Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Nothing Do ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Nothing Do iOS application and the website nothingdo.com (together, the "Services").
Nothing Do is a local-first productivity app for tasks, habits, and focus timers. We do not operate user accounts, cloud sync, or advertising in the app. Information you enter stays on your iPhone unless you choose to share it outside the app using standard iOS features.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The app stores tasks, steps, habits, check-in history, streaks, and related settings you create. This data is saved locally on your device using on-device storage (SwiftData). It is not transmitted to us.
App preferences such as appearance, sounds, haptics, reminder defaults, and onboarding status are stored in UserDefaults on your device.
If your device is enrolled in iCloud device backup or encrypted local backups, copies of the app's local data may be included in those backups. Those backups are managed by Apple and by you, under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We have no access to them.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
Nothing Do does not collect, sell, rent, share, or transmit your personal data to our servers or to third parties. We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, crash-reporting services that collect personal data, or cross-app tracking.
The app does not require sign-in and does not request access to contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera.
We have not sold or shared personal information, and we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We do not process personal data for targeted advertising or profiling.
4. Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app can schedule local reminders for habits and optional task nudges. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and are not sent through our servers or any push-notification service.
You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings or inside the app.
5. App Store and Apple
The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. When you download the app or make a purchase through the App Store, Apple processes information such as your Apple Account details and transaction data under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your name, email address, or payment details from Apple; we may receive aggregated, anonymized statistics (such as download counts) that cannot identify you.
6. Website and Support
Our website is a static informational site. It does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking technologies.
If you contact us by email at info@quackdb.app, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to your request and to improve the app, retain it only as long as needed for that purpose, and do not share it with third parties except as required by law.
7. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
Because the app processes your content entirely on your device, we generally do not process your personal data at all. Where we do (for example, when you email support), our legal basis under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(f)) or, where applicable, your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
Because your app data is stored only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly: view and edit your data in the app, erase all local app data from Settings, or delete the app. For data you have sent us by email, contact info@quackdb.app and we will honor verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app from your device. We do not retain copies.
Settings includes an option to erase all local app data. Deleting the app removes locally stored tasks, habits, and preferences associated with the app.
10. Data Security
Your app data is protected by the security features of your device and iOS, including device encryption when a passcode is set. Because the data never leaves your device through the app, the primary safeguard is keeping your device secured and up to date. No method of storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data held on hardware we do not control.
11. International Data Transfers
We do not transfer your app data anywhere. It stays on your device. Support emails are processed where our email provider operates; by contacting us you acknowledge your message may be processed outside your country of residence with safeguards required by applicable law.
12. Children's Privacy
Nothing Do is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when revisions are published. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice, such as an in-app notice.
Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
